Week 6 was a success! It was a complicated and tough week, but I managed to pull it off. If you missed my last post I talked about how and why I was taking a Tuesday through Thursday road trip this last week. The issue wasn’t the road trip itself, but how I would continue my P90X workout while making my way through three different states. Here’s how I worked out the P90X Classic schedule last week:

  • Sunday: Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps + Ab Ripper X (just like normal).
  • Monday: Skipped Plyometrics, substituted Back & Biceps (no Ab Ripper X).
  • Tuesday: Left early in the morning for Phoenix, did Plyometrics in Phoenix. Traveled to Las Cruces, New Mexico for the night.
  • Wednesday: Woke up early, did Yoga X at the hotel, left for Texas.
  • Thursday: Flew from San Antonio in the morning, landed in Cali in the early afternoon, did Legs & Back like normal.

No doubt, my friends. It was tough to change up the schedule. I felt the difference by late Tuesday night. It felt as if I had gone through another phase in muscle confusion. Nevertheless, I was very happy I made it through the week even though I traveled over 3000 miles in two days.

The Challenge

Heading into this week (week 7) I’ve decided to take a break today. Let me explain. For some reason I woke up this morning feeling a bit sluggish and out of sorts. I was awake for a few hours, but before I could even begin to motivate myself to workout I was falling asleep watching the 9/11 memorial broadcasts on TV. Instead of trying to pull some unnecessary stunt, I’ve decided to take a break. So, who knows? I might just take a nap after I’m done typing this out. I think it’s only right I give my body some rest when it calls for sleep.

The Reward

A new milestone: Today is the farthest I have ever reached in any of my attempts of finishing a full round of P90X. That in itself is an accomplishment, and I’m going to soak in it for the rest of the week.
